Syncro alternative
CubeMSP compared with Syncro
One subscription instead of two, which is a strong argument at ten technicians.

What Syncro actually is
Syncro combines remote monitoring and management with professional services automation in a single platform, licensed per technician with unlimited endpoints. For a small provider that is a materially simpler commercial proposition than buying an RMM and a PSA separately, and the integration between the two halves is naturally tighter than any connector could be. The trade-off is the one that always attaches to combined products: each half is less deep than a specialist would be, and choosing it means accepting both halves as a package. Providers usually leave when one of the two stops being sufficient.
Credit where it is due
What Syncro does well
These are the real reasons it has the customers it has. If two or more of them describe something you need, weight them heavily.
RMM and PSA in one subscription, which removes an entire integration and an entire supplier relationship.
Per-technician pricing with unlimited endpoints - predictable and simple to model as you grow.
Fast to get running compared with an enterprise PSA implementation.
Well suited to smaller providers who want one tool rather than a best-of-breed stack.
Side by side
The differences that actually change the decision
Not a feature checklist. These are the structural differences - licensing, scope, who implements it - that determine whether a system fits, and they are the ones nobody tells you until month four.

Worth checking
Questions to put to them before you sign
None of these are faults. They are design decisions with consequences, and every one of them is answerable - so ask.
Combined means compromise on both halves
A product doing two jobs is rarely as deep at either as a specialist. Which half you notice first depends on which side of your business grows more complicated.
The bundle is the point, and the constraint
The commercial advantage comes from taking both halves. If you decide you want a different RMM, most of the reason for choosing it goes with the decision.
Client-facing output is functional rather than a feature
Reporting and client communication exist, but building a persuasive quarterly review from them is still largely manual work.
Scale it is aimed at
Positioned for smaller providers. Firms growing past a certain size and process complexity commonly find they need more depth on one side or the other.
If the single biggest thing you want is one supplier and one bill for both monitoring and business management, Syncro delivers that and CubeMSP does not - we deliberately do not build an RMM. For a five-technician firm watching costs closely, that argument is strong and we will not talk anybody out of it. Come back when the business side has outgrown it.
If you do move
What leaving Syncro actually involves
- 1
The RMM decision comes first
Moving the business layer to CubeMSP means choosing an RMM to keep or move to. That decision should be made deliberately and first, not discovered halfway through.
- 2
Bring the ticket history
It is what makes the knowledgebase and retrieval useful on day one rather than in month six.
- 3
Rebuild the recurring book properly
Contracts built around managed endpoints usually need restructuring into service lines with cost and sell on each. It is a few days of work and it is where most of the margin visibility comes from.
Questions
What people ask when comparing us with Syncro
No, and we do not intend to. Building a competitive monitoring agent is years of specialist engineering, and doing it badly alongside a business platform would help nobody. We integrate with the RMM you choose.
Possibly, because you will be buying two products instead of one. The comparison worth making is total cost against what the business layer actually gives you - renewal visibility, real margin per client, and reviews that no longer take a day to prepare.
Clients, contacts, contracts, tickets and time, yes. RMM-side data - agents, policies, scripts - belongs to whichever RMM you keep and is not ours to move.
Possibly, and we will say so if it is. Below about five technicians a combined tool is often the right answer, and we would rather you came back in two years than left in six months.
